Survey Results

Updated 12th May 2012

Whitby Toy Library strives to provide a relevant and up to date service for its members. One way this is done is by asking members to take part in one of two online surveys.

Those whose memberships have come up for renewal are asked to fill in this survey while new members are asked to fill in this survey.

If you are a member of the Whitby Toy Library and haven’t yet had the opportunity to take part in one of these surveys and would like to, please feel free to choose the survey which is more relevant to you by clicking on one of the above links.

Because all responses are anonymous, the committee have no way of responding personally to those who have taken the time to fill in the surveys. That's where this page comes in!

New comments and suggestions are discussed at each committee meeting and any decisions made will be posted on this web site. Below are the most recent comments/decisions.

Comments and suggestions are in green. The committee's decisions are in red.

One of the negatives is the location of the toy library

Unfortunately it's not very practical to relocate! Depending on where you live, you may find that Tawa or Plimmerton Toy Libraries may be closer to where you are. We are thinking that once the new New World is open, that this may be of help to some members who can combine a supermarket shop with a visit to the toy library.

Some of the toys are priced a little expensive

The formula for working out the rental on each toy is based on the actual purchase price of the toy. However, when a toy starts to get tatty, sometimes the rental will be lowered. If you come across a toy which you feel needs a reduction in rental cost, please let us know.

There have been comments about the toys being old and worn (especially ride-ons) and having missing or mismatched parts.

The committee are aware of this concern and have made the decision to replace many of the old toys over the next while so be on the lookout for the new toys as they come into the toy library. If you see a particular toy which you think needs replacing, please let Karen know at the toy library.

The opening times printed over Xmas New Year holidays were innacurate i.e. not open when the information provided said the library would be open.

We know! And we are very very sorry for this error. Ideally we would like to apologize to each person affected by this oversight but unfortunately we don't know who turned up on the day and therefore don't know who to apologize to! Please accept our apologies and we will endeavour to do better in the future.

There is a limited choice of toys for babies and toddlers. More activity cubes and toys to develop fine motor skills would be great.

Your comment has been noted by the committee and more baby/toddler toys have been added to our toy buying wish list. Should there be a particular toy you would like to see in the toy library, please let us know.
